nc23 speed restrictor question

hi, im removing the speedo on my track bike so the speed restrictor wires wont be connected. is this a problem? i would like to put a gold ecu on it anyway really but not right now. or is there any other way to remove the restrictor?

Having it unplugged won't affect the bike. All it does is make a connection when the needle goes past ***kph. If the connection isn't there to make, it won't restrict the bike.

really????? if that was the case then why do people bother cutting the speedo disc or soldering a resistor into the wire when they could just cut the wire and the restriction is gone??

On nc30's when the speedo unit is removed (or the wire is cut) it cuts spark to 2 cylinders after 5000 rpm. I imagine the nc23's have a similar setup being from the same era??

You can get around it on nc30's the same way as bypassing the 180 km/h speed restriction (install resistor in correct wire etc).

This is the case on the nc29's , the bike will cut to two cylinders unless you cut down the disc

Are you removing just the speedo or the whole clock unit?

Just removing the speedo. The rev counter and temp gauge are staying put
