29 wont start...

Post by VForcer » Sun Jan 16, 2011 3:53 pm

Can someone please tell me the methodical order in what to test to identify why I can't get the bike running?

So far, the engine turns over, fuel pump/relay appear to work, plugs look ok, there is spark coming from all 4 leads, when I turn it over I get loud bangs and pretty flames from the can, but it won't fire up and run.

Just after some pointers :-)

Cheers,
Rob

They are marked and connected up as follows (as when I got it):

Left hand coils, front marked as 1, back marked as 4. Right hand coils front marked as 2, back marked as 3. These go into cylinders 1 - 4 as per mark on coils assuming cylinder 1 farthest left as you sit on the bike looking forward.

That correct order?

Use a bit of easy start (or carb cleaner) sprayed into the airbox..that might get it to catch and then you are away.
