NC29 help needed - what goes where?!
Right chaps, picked up my 29 today and made a start on it. Obviously first thing to do is establish if she's a runner so bought some oil and a filter (£22 deal from HG - ideal! :))
Drained old oil and there was hardly any old stuff in it which is a worry. So not put the new in as need more daylight before I can check for leaks since garage is cramped and not that well lit.
The other things I need to do before I try and start it is work out operation and fixing location of fuel pump which is hanging loose at present and is only connected to the loom, ie no fuel pipes fitted. In the same kind of area there's also two yellow wires coming from the loom on the rh side (as you sit on it) into a brownish plug that is not connected to anything and looks like it should be, and a white plastic tray (tinged red in the pic with the fuel pump laying on top of it) fixed to the frame above the area of the top mount of the rear shock that looks like some form of receptacle for cables and/or a mount for something - again does not look right as there's nothing routed through it or fixed to it.
Anyone got a close up pic of their own bike around the fuel pump area or a diagram showing what goes where? Cmsl micro fische is good for showing various parts and numbers but doesn't tell me where everything goes!
Many thanks,
Rob
Edit - pic added to show what i'm on about. It shows the loose fuel pump and the yellow wires not connected to anything. (wiring on most parts of the bike is all over the place!). For the fuel pump i'm assuming as follows: fuel line from tap on tank to pump, fuel line from pump to connection at bottom rail of carbs, which leaves a smaller diameter pipe connection coming from the fuel pump that i have no idea about.

One on the way, although not sure even a Haynes is going to tell me what goes where?! Always gonna be my problem buying a bike not complete. I'm usually ok taking apart and putting back together, but when it starts apart I'm in trouble! Sure some good folk of this forum will have the answershallsie wrote:Best getting hold of a Haynes manual , looks like you got your hands full there !

Edit. Or since you own a 29 you could always whip your tank off, look what's down there and let me know hey, and take some pics to show me!!!

I wanna say the block with the yellow wires is to/from the generator, but that should have 3 wires

Dont panic Rob, will have a look later to see where those 2 wires go. Hope this pic shows where the pump goes.

Re: NC29 help needed - what goes where?!
Chris that's fab, i know i'm missing all the mountings for the pump but the location is what i was after and that shows it just fine
Where does the small diameter pipe outlet from the bottom of the fuel pump go to?
Also, on your bike, on the plastic tray above the fuel pump i can see the yellow wires and brown plug plugged into a receptacle on that same tray and that is what i am asking about. What does that go to fella? Looks like that tray is used the route part of the loom through. Again this helps me out
Can i just check with you as well. On the carbs i can see two vacant hose connections. The lower 'brown' coloured one - is this for the pipe from the fuel pump (i note it's the same diameter pipe). The black hose connecter on the higher side of the carbs (above the brown one) looks like it should have some form of hose attached? If you could advise on this that would be ace
(i can circle the bits i'm on about on my pic if that helps!!?)
Many thanks!
Rob

NC29 help needed - what goes where?!
I believe I have a wiring diagram somewhere for the bike as I had a fault on mine - I will see if I can dig it out but I will be whipping the old tank off later in the week to replace the shock

There you go, those 2 cables go to the pulse generator coil.
