Suspension settings for an nc35
I've done a search but nothing came up.Can anyone tell me what the factory settings are for the front and rear suspension on a nc35 is please.

you don't want factory settings..
you want settings that suit you...
The springs are probably too soft and if original will be very tired...so looking at getting them sorted is a good call.
Either way, set the sag - easily done. Then count your damping clicks and err on the softer side and then ride it.
If it is too soft and you have used all your preload then you need the harder springs. You cannot control the fundamental lack of spring rate with damping.

Bottom line - what does it do now? put damping in the first 3rd of adjustment and set your sag and go from there.

I like to start with the factory settings and go from there but I now what your getting at. I've started by setting the sag to 40mm front and 20 mm rear and then half way with the clicks. Got to start somewhere a.

Aye. I hear you.
Factory settings for something in the last 5 years designed for westerners is cool..but 15 years on...
40/20 sag is too much.
If you get it in your head that you want the bike to be able to push its tyres onto the floor and into any lumps or bumps you'll be getting there.
Once spring rate is sorted, then damping follows.

Mate you don't want factory settings with these shocks and suspenders, for road they are already way too sloppy and for track it is just ridiculous. I believe for people aside from the smallest japs the preload should always be maximum front and rear for these bikes.
For New Zealand roads (little bumpy sometimes) however the suspension is actually perfect providing you max out the damping settings front and rear. Preload on full. Rear shocks suffer big time between different bikes i have found- some good, others bloody terrible. Get it reworked if it is the re buildable type (all models but 89) and it should be pretty nice. No matter what it will still bottom out under braking though.
I'd say just max it out and you can't go wrong providing your forks and rear shock aren't totally poked.

Thanks for that guys.It's nice to know what other people are running.Like you said i sat on the bike the first time and it felt really soft.The shocks and forks are in really good nic so I will wind them all the way and see how hard I can get them.
