Are there any dirty NCs anymore?

Post by craigs23 »

Seems that there's a little bug caught on along the ranks of the forum, where almost every example shown is either being rebuilt, or is all sparkly clean.

Perhaps the NCs aren't used as much by owners who've just passed their tests, and are more of an enthusiast's bike now... but let's see some dirty NCs.

My dirtiest is from when I was around 20, my first NC used daily to commute to Uni. Still, not terrible condition, but a lot more practical than what I have now. It was cleaned with an old car sponge and a squirt of WD40, unpolished downpipes, no care for bolts and fasteners, decals missing, grazes on the fairing, shower plug in the top yoke, just get on and ride. I almost miss days like that...

These are actually 'clean' too, i'll take some pictures when it isn't so cold of the current bikes, need cleaning so bad, i've seen a cleaner CR125 that's just come off a soggy farmer field!

Well, i cant add pics buts in the 4 years ive had my main NC30, ive cleaned it 3 times!
Its kept inside though & i only ride it in the dry, so im guessing it doesnt really count - ha, ha!
But in fairness, the chain lube from ealrier this year is still everywhere & there are dead bugs all over it if that helps.
