vfr nc30 indicaters not working

Post by rob b »

Hello.
Could somebody please help me. I have just required a verry nice vfr 400 a lovely bike. But I have one problem none of the indicaters are working. I asked the guy who owned it & he said they are a bit funny when cold but are ok when bike has wormed up I tried that & still not working. Many thanks.

check the switch, it could be knackered or even the indicator relay and connections to indicators, things can get abit corroded or broken

Could you try another relay?
I probably have one in the garage you could try if need be?

Where abouts are you? There maybe someone closer who also has one.

Pretty common problem with nc30's, the switchgear usually just needs a good clean.

Take it apart, spray it with contact cleaner (or wd40) and remove all the grease build up.

the relay is under the seat unit on the left side, next to the regulator/rectifier , its a little black unit
