NEW FRONT DISCS

Post by uber pikey »

I am looking for new front discs for my NC30, I have searched the usual places and wonder what you thought of these or if you know someone who has tried them any info would be great, or even a direction to where and what I should be buying.

The first company is a British company and after a quick phone call I discovered that they supply Jammie Wilkins who rides in the Streetfighter series (1st this season and second last) and he only used 2 sets this year.

The other company has a small feedback rating however the discs look good right

Wemoto sell discs for the NC30 but there more expensive. I've only used EBC and the OE Honda ones and both were fine.

Good second hand discs are hard to find, out of the last 5 sets of got from here & ebay, only 1 set has been any good & they were badly listed & i got them for £11.00 on ebay!

If you cant get some good OE genuine honda discs from an, cbr400 nc23 / nc29, nc30 or nc35, vfr750 94-97, cbr600 95 - 98, cbr900 fireblade 94 - 97 or a vtr1000 firestorm, then go get some new ebc's, they're worth spending the money on.

As for where, keep an eye out on here or the usual, ebay.

I have also been looking at getting some new discs, it may be worth looking on ebay at other OEM discs that fit our bikes, i.e. vtr1000 and cbr900, there are a few about in good nick.
I am always a little sceptical of cheap brakes, i would rather pay £250 for a new set of EBC or Armstrong discs (or even OEM ones from honda) rather than £150 for a lesser quality set and ££££££ to replace the bike after the brakes fail.
I know it sounds a little extreme, but over the life of the discs, the extra you pay works out to be pence per mile.
:peace:

I rang them this morning like I said I would and as we guessed all sold out. I am going for the british made ones and will let you know how I get on and how they cope when I get them on.
