TYRE's.... ?
Hey all,
next mth its Tyre buying time... i'm currently running Bridgestone, Battlax BT090 PRO - was told there the best tyre for NC30's?
I'm now going to mainly use the bike for track so thinking of getting some nice sticky rubber, anyone tried the Michelin Power one's or any Dunlop, Pirrelli etc..? Want a good sticky Track tyre
I'm currently still running standard rear wheel.
Cheers
Toby

Well maybe 17" conversion required... Would my BT090's be ok then?

If your riding mainly on track then a 17" conversion makes a good sense. Then maybe look at the Bridgestone 003

Re: TYRE's.... ?
95% of the F400 racers in the world cannot be wrong, the Diablo Supercorsa is the tyre of choice. Though the required £200 rear wheel, raising the rear to suit and then near £300 set of tyres may put you off.
And then you really do want some tyre warmers, these are ZR rated tyres after all.
Of the 18" choices IMHO the BT090 (pro or not) is a better all round tyre than the Alpha10, it goes off in a less alarming fashion and is hugely better in the wet. I've seen knee down antics in the wet on 090's, the A10's in the wet are less than great.

Re: TYRE's.... ?
90's are a great trackday tyre.. the supercorsas have the edge but they will require financial investment (at least 500 for wheel / tyres etc)
If your not competitive racing or a trackday god, if your bike isn't upto spec i'd recommend upgrading the suspension and sticking with the 90's before upgrading to super-corsas.. the shock / forks / brakes will bring your laptimes down more than switching from 90's to supercorsas if your bike isn't kitted out :)

BT090 are great on track and you will have to pretty adept to push them over the edge in a 20 minute session
I am changing to pirelli supers as got 17inch set up and can get my hands on plenty of part worns. no other reason really and they are superb in wet and slightly damp conditions.
p.s got a set of 090 that have done 4 sessions if anyone wants to make me a offer

Re: TYRE's.... ?
I have the bridgestones on mine at the moment, but ive not had the chance to ride it yet!
Ive seen a few people go from 18" to a 17" wheel, why are the smaller wheels better? Is it better handling?
Not too knowledgable about this stuff sorry!
Cheers
Tom
