3tj/4dx clockset differences

Post by cagiva996 »

just picked up a mint set of 4dx uk spec clocks and need to pick everyones brain.i fitted the clocks no problm but the two connector blocks that fit into the tjs loom are 9 pin and the 4dx clocks are 6 pin,the other white box is 4 pin and the tj is 3!no problem i thought ill put the 4dx speedo in the tjs clocks but the tjs clocks have a small circuit board where the restrictor goes(that goes out to the m-max box) and you cant put the board with the disc onto the dx speedo.i was under the impression if lost all the retrictor wiring if i put the dx clocks on that the ecu would leave me at its 125000rpm restriction all the time any ideas fellas as i really want to replace the old clocks with some uk spec ones as mine have faded badley over the last eighteen years!!!

Like you I'd have thought they were a straight swap but without a wiring diagram for both bikes I couldn't tell you.

THe 4dx cdi did not have a restrictor on the clocks, but if you were able to get hold of a 4dx cdi unit i could help you, for i have a 4dx wiring loom.
