i would have thought some kind of fitting instructions or at least an illustration of where they go would be a good place to start from the manufacturer, but they didnt send anything other than the parts which i pay for last week and they only got send out monday!

Aye..but it is simple. You can fit them to the unused front lower bolts too..but they'll snap in an accident..as will the top ones...
I had some and took them off...didn't like them

Re: crash bobbins where do they go/fit
where do they screw into?
into the lower engine mounts?
i have the instructions but there are usefull as a choclate teapot.
"VFR400R NC30 Fitting instructions
Remove fairing panel
Support engine to stop any movement whilst undoing bolts
Remove engine bolt at the front under the radiator
Insert new engine bolt and relevant spacer
Mark the head of the bolt with paint in order to mark the inside of the fairing
Reposition the fairing carefully so that the paint leaves a mark
Remove fairing panel once more
Remove engine bolt and spacer
Cut out the hole marked on the fairing. This is best done in small stages.
I always drill a small hole first and then replace the panel and look through the hole to check alignment and the take the rest out using a Dremel or similar. The more time taken here the better the result.
Insert new bobbin assembly and tighten to manufacturers recommended torque setting.

Not sure that you've got the right instructions there. Try hererickyb_dj wrote:where do they screw into?

Re: crash bobbins where do they go/fit
This is how i have mine on my 35,

Then i cut out the fairing with a hole saw.
make sure that the engine mounting threads are clean, as you can strip the mounting bolt/engine thread if you have crap in there.
