Realistic 750cc conversion?

Post by Giffin101 »

Where are we with the VFR750 engine swap? Is this now a realistic conversion, are solutions to mounting the engine known and issues with exhausts, electrics, cooling resolved?
Has anyone done a project thread on the conversion listing the parts needed and problems encountered?

You going to get it sorted mate?

I know a guy with a motor...I have a spare frame....

I might take my frame over and see what the clearance is like, I'll bet it was tight!

Was a guy on here who bought the converted one off eBay..he was going to take a few pics for us but it went quiet

I read through that thread, its a shame the guy who built it hadnt posted it up before he sold it.

You have an engine? I was thinking of buying a whole bike and using the electrics etc..

Have you ridden the bike much? from what i gather when it was on ebay is that it was a unfinished project. How does the frame handle the extra weight? You dont fancy stripping it to take some pics do you

Vfr800 and fit an A&A kit? 140bhp or something like that. Sounds fun!

A 400 turbo would be cool, just a shame theres no room on an nc30 to play with! Maybe we should put a 400 in a vfr750 just to be differant!
Think it be easier to do a CBR4/6 or blade than a VFR400/750 but dont let me stop you, it be a great project, and its proven it can be done, it just a shame i not got a tig welder and an old frame/ engine to play with!
Go for it, maybe even consider a VTR or something, tho there engine seem a bit long, not that ive been looking into it or anything...
Cheers
Ian
