track nosecone conversion?

Post by Smoky »

Afternoon all- ive a set of track panels at home that are sitting around doing nothing- so, i was wondering, how hard would it be to convert these, or more specifically the nosecone, into road fairings?
please bear in mind that im a total newbie at construction/conversion projects like this but would love to give it a go...

would be attempting the "silhouette" look. possibly even keeping both headlamps as i do love the "bug eye" effect.
any and all comments appreciated.
cheers all!

Those would be perfect candidates for some projectors with HID!

I agree, go for a single projector endurance style, it will be a hell of a lot easier than trying to shape the holes in exactly the right place for the standard lamps.

Check out cammo's black death NC, that has a home made projector fitted and looks top.

The fairing on Cammo's bike was modded by me a while back (6 years?). I got the projector light from the local rubbish tip 8-) Probably easier to get from a breakers though. A lot of cars have them these days, but you need to get one that is self contained and preferably that looks alright.

Here's a pic of Cammo's fairing in the making. You can see that it certaintly isn't rocket science :ugeek: And much easier with the blank canvas you have rather than the mess I was working on. I molded the light tubes over PVC pipe (100 mm for main light, 65 mm for projector). Then just cut your hole, stick the tube in and glass it at the back. Finish with a good quality epoxy filler. Jobs a gooden :peace:

I'm sure Cammo will pop along and post an 'after' pic.

AWESOME! I guess I am not the only one who think that bike looks shit (not THE shit!).

The race version looks much better, mainly because those lights aren't in it.
