SP1/SP2 engine in a 30 or 35 frame?

Post by skinnydog0_0 »

Hi all,
Maybe a stupid question, but i was wondering if anyone knows or has tried to fit an SP1 or 2 engine into a 30/35 frame?
If it did fit (with a bit of adjustment) might make for an interesting project.
Any thoughts much appreciated.
Cheers

 love to see that but even if it did fit in there i reckon it'll shake it to bits, thats a pretty heavy lump in a SP.

Go on....try it ;)

You could ask this seller....

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Honda-SP1-RC51-En ... 2c5644c4a5

BTW thats cheap, even if the gearbox is probably trashed on 3rd. I'd want to strip it anyway and for that price it's not bad at all...

Hey good spot Neo,
Yes i think a full strip would be needed. The engine mounts look in roughly the right location for an NC frame. It looks like it may need some rather large engine mount spacers as the heads look narrower and longer.
I have been trawling the net for engine dims and i cant seem to find any, do you know where i could find them?

I tried the SV 650 engine into the NC30 frame - It will fit but there will have to be loads of mods to get it done properly and I didn't and don't have the time for it at the moment.

If you search for 'Project sleeper' there should be some stuff in that topic about it.

Here are a couple of pics of the SV650 engine roughly positioned under the NC30 frame.
