Blue label CDI vs Gold Label CDI
Hi, I was wondering if someone can explain the performance difference between the blue and gold CDI's. My bike is an 88 J model with a blue CDI. Will the gold CDI make much difference to the performance?
Thanks
Ian
Thanks

ok thanks for that. I thought it might improve performance. I clipped a bit of metal off in the speedo (very neatly) which removed the restriction. It now revs till it blows in top (on a track of course) which it didnt before. I'm glad i didnt buy one for stupid money on ebay.

hi guys , sorry to revive this thread but i have a question. i have two cdi's one blue label KY2 one which was in the bike with a M max parts corporation racing off limiter box so no restriction
the other was given as spare and it has a silver label KT8.
i see things about gold labels but nothing about silver

Re: Blue label CDI vs Gold Label CDI
Have a gold on my rrj and tried a blue on it once from a rrk but it did not run correctly (but worked fine on the k). Is there a difference between the rrj CDI and the rrk apart from the colour and derestricting nature of the unit.
