buzzing solenoid - hybrid
Just when i thought i'd get the hybrid running i'm stumped by an electrical issue. Not being very wise in the ways of electrickery, please help!
As far as i can tell everything is wired up as it should be. I have a full cat loom, cdi, starter solenoid, coils, ignition switch etc....
When i turn on the ignition i get the oil and neutral light come on, the tacho does its merry 8k dance (tank isn't connected, know about this one already!). Fuel pump clicks away for a while to prime the carbs, but when i thumb the starter all i get is a buzzing from the starter solenoid, in fact you can feel it vibrate.
As luck would have it, my bro-in-law has a hybrid, so i borrowed his solenoid, cdi, ignition switch and the starter relay and swapped each one out in turn to see if that would fix it. NO!
Anyone have any ideas, i'm really pee'd off

What he said ^^^^ or maybe a poor earth to the solenoid.
I fooled the 8k tank thingy with a resistor if I remember correctly.

Re: buzzing solenoid - hybrid
Put some jump leads on the battery see if that "cures" it
Re: buzzing solenoid - hybrid
Must have been an iffy connection as I've put it all back together and it's fine :-)
Re: buzzing solenoid - hybrid
well, when i say fixed, it actually turned out to be a knackered battery!
Next problem is getting the bike to fire!
