Hi. I began polishing my bike. Well some parts of it to make it look better without side fairings.

This is the effect of spending 5 quid and 3 days of hard work. But there are still bits that need to be finished such as those painted parts next to fitting brackets. there are also these things left after welding and dont know what should i do with them so that i'll be able to clean it perfectly. Can i just use an angle grinder? Am using only sandpaper and water to rip the paint off and my hands to polish with a piece of cloth and Autosol polishing paste.

What do u think of the effect as for the first timer? This will be polished once again with Autosol M1

If you've got a drill you can get a polishing kit for £20 of Das 'Bay.

Autosol is ok but it doesn't last as long as proper metal polish, your hands will be relieved too

But do u know what bout these weldings? Can I flatten them using an angle grinder? Only at the sides of it, not next to the brackets so that they don't fall off

I'm no expert but i think the welds must say...... I've never seen them
ground flush, put like i say I'm not an expert !!

As for the compound I've seen being used with a polishing mop, it looks
like a long snooker cue chalk !!

if you remove the welds you will weaken the frame.

so what to do to make them shine?

Try a soft wire brush to take the paint anodising off then just buff them up. Good welding is nice to see once you understand how it's done

The bits you're polishing are steel, you know? They'll rust if you leave them unprotected.
