nc24 clutch hydrolic upgrade

I have read somewhere that you can remove the clutch cable and replace it with a master cylinder and fit a slave cylinder onto the sprocket cover but im not sure what bike these bits come from(vfr750f maybee!).
Has anyone done this and if so what bits from what bike were used please or even better a 'how to' would be brill . Im looking at replacing the brake master cylinder to match so want to get both off the same bike if possible. There are quite afew bits on e-bay at the moment but dont want to get bits that wont fit.

Any help would be greatfullt recived,

Hi mate, the slave cyclinder for engine cover is best off an nc21, all parts should fit nicely.

Did the nc21 have a hydrolic clutch? and if so why didnt they pit one on the nc24?
Is it becauce there is no adjustment?

You don't need to adjust a hyrdaulic clutch, theres no cable to stretch.

You'll need NC21 master cylinder, NC21 Clutch Pushrod, NC21 sprocket Cover & Slave Cylinder and a few bolts.

Disadvantages are that its' heavier, more expensive, and if the cylinder starts to leak or stick it can be more difficult to repair.

Advantages are they don't require adjustment and as such the biting point is consistent.

Thanks, the above link is brilliant. I didnt know the rods were different lengths so i would have been struggling big time.

Looks like £90 ish without the pushrod and fluids so it might be one to do over winter, gather the bits gradually and fit it all while the bikes being cleaned/stripped, so might just replace the cable for now.

The cable clutch isn't too bad?

There is nothing wrong with a cable clutch, but a hydraulic one looks nice on the handle bars as long as the brake master cylinder matches.


And im not one for keeping things standard for too long. I do like to be different and love gadgets.

Im currently looking at a camera and recording system for the bike and going on afew track days, all in order to improve my riding skill..

Could the pushrod not be duplicated easily from a set of measurements ?
