emulsion tube replacement gk76

Post by cruicent »

Hi,
Doing my head in as I read it somewhere but cant find it now!

The emulsion tubes arent available from robinsons foundry any more, any one know what bike uses the same tubes?
Or where can I get 4 new ones from?
Cheers,

gsxr400 racer wrote:Here is some more knowledge for you...which my knowledge of the 76 is slim...

Carb Orings gaskets etc... all the same as the rf 600 and 900 carbs (float gaskets, all orings and even the infamous brass needles jet they are one number different than the stock 76 but since they are discontinued from suzuki for the 76 you can jet this out no problem...and we all know that they wear out to oval instead of circle)

fuel valve rebuild kits same as 750-1100 gsxr and some other suzukis

hope it helps someone

If I'm not mistaken GK76A part no. is 09494-00812

Found that a couple of seconds ago lol, thanks though and for the codes.
last part number is the only one that comes up in robinsons foundry quick order pad thingy,

09494-00638
NEEDLE JET 0-8
£22.48

By jet it out does this mean I have to get other parts for the carbs? Or play about with needle settings or something?
Thanks

Sorry I was going from memory, looks like I was wrong rf600/900 part is 09494-00810. I'll edit my post above as not to confuse anyone else!

It might be worth looking into the factorypro needle jets as they are nickel plated to reduce wear, take a look at the rf600/900 on this page http://www.factorypro.com/products/jets ... %20buy.htm

Ah yes, thanks, that works out. £91.20 for 4 tubes then. Or £83.35 for the factory pro ones I think (plus overseas delivery wait). Will have a thinksies.

Whats meant by jet out then?

dont quote me on this but i seem to remember the bandit 400 ones fitting the non sp carbs for the 76a and they are closer than the rf ones and also available from factory pro with needles and jets as a complet package. I'm sure jay could confirm this if he's about. I still cant access my emails where i have lots of info stored. My memory is good but not that good. Its been a couple of years since i played with non sp stuff.

YE guys the S model gk76a is 09494-00812 and i think Jay was saying the RF was -00810 so very close. Im sure they are 0.5's and the B4 is 0.9 same as the 73a that Jay was racing so think the reference to B4 stuff was against his 73a. Think the Rf uses the same casting so the similar tube.
Id take a look at factory Pros site and see if the RF is 0.5mm tubes.

Heres from factory pro site on what they have:
Suzuki, rf600, 94-96
Suzuki, rf900, 94-97
yes, Suzuki used essentially the same part in both size carbs....
Suz pn:
09494-00810 (900)
09494-00872 (900)
09494-00854 (600)
09494-00814 (600)
These are all interchangeable. The top 3 are "O-9" and the bottom one is an "O-8". The theoretical difference in size between an "O-8" and an "O-9" is below any realistic manufacturing tolerance!)
So meaning they are 0.4 to much? Too much here lol so getting a tad confused.

09494-00812 o-5 (2.625mm)
09494-00814 o-8 (2.640mm)
09494-00810 o-9 (2.645mm)

So the difference between o-5 and o-9 is only 0.02mm.

factorypro is right the difference between o-8, and o-9 is 5 microns witch would be the tolerance of precision machining.

I dont know enough about them but the 900 is on 0.9, the 600 on 0.8 and the 400's on 0.5's so read into this what you will. The hole acts as a jet and is matched to the needle. You will be able to jet them as the 73a has 0.9's and very thick needles and the factory needles are much thinner and require a smaller main jet so i think thats what Jay means when he says 'jet this out'.
