Camel RCV211 Replica NC29

Post by scrime »

Good day everyone,

Been reading plenty of the posts on the forum and have been getting very interested in finishing off my bike to how it should be.

A bit of background:
I live in South Africa which makes getting parts both difficult and expensive, but I now have raised some cash and want to finish it off. I was knocked over on the highway by a taxi that changed lanes without looking in the mirror, so I had the fairings fixed and re-sprayed back to the Camel colours that I got it in, in retrospect I wish I hadn't because getting the sticker kit has proved very difficult. The guy who fixed and sprayed the fairings did such a poor job, I'm sending it to an expert to fix it up and finish it properly.

Before and after taxi pics:

Kit's I've been looking at (including shipping to SA):
Red Racing Parts = Euro 173.40 = R1697.07
Bike HPS = £115.74 = R1305.00

Edit: I can't get the Red Racing site to link directly to the correct sticker kit, it's under stickers then MotorGP then RCV211 Camel MotoGP 2003 - Biaggi / Tamada

Examples of RCV211:

Has anyone had any experience with these suppliers? Or have recommendations on where else I can get the kit?

Otherwise I managed to find Adobe Illustrator vectors for most of the graphics and could possibly get them air brushed or have a sticker kit made. I'm not sure if that would be any cheaper or better.

Thanks in advance,
Mark.

Sorry to hear about the accident first off.

Tyga are well recommended going by peoples comments on here in the past. By the way i did see the guy who imports the kits into the UK say that 400greybike members can get 10% off the kits!! Not sure about outside UK. Other people may point you to him on the forum.

As for the graphics i bought my Ten Kate graphics kit from these people - http://www.bikedecals.co.uk They were loads cheaper than what i found at the time last year and they are good quality. Again UK but postage can't be too bad.

Send a message to Brooky on here - he can sort your decals out from the adobe files.

He has done great work for us over here, no reason why some postage to Saffa won't be a problem.

All I can say is thanks so much for the response! That bike decals site is loads cheaper, they responded to me in minutes even though it must be about 20:00 over there in the UK.

I've also PM'd Gavin JAP4, will wait to hear what he has to say, maybe if it's affordable I'll go for the Tyga set. It really looks good and I'd love to fix the bike how she deserves.

Thanks everyone, I'm so happy there's a community of 400greybike crazed people like us.

scrime message sent to you.

I am happy to give all grey bike members discount no matter where they are aslong as they do not have a TYGA supplier in their own country.

Awesome, decided to order the Honda Camel 2004 sticker kit from bikedecals.co.uk, will let you know how it goes. It's a good price £49.99 (R562.38), hopefully quality will also be good.

Decided it's a bit too expensive for me to get the Tyga kit shipped here. Thanks again everyone.

Hi all, I just wanted to let you know I've received my decals, www.bikedecals.co.uk was fast, efficient and extremely well priced, I found the decals to be perfect, better than expected. Thank you Lucas for referring them to me.

I will post pics once they're on the bike.
