what are the differences between the rrn model and the rrr model aside from the forks and obviously paintscheme? How much of a difference are there between the two colours of white on the bikes (noticeable or not)?
Reason i ask is as i am struggling to get the bellypan decals for my bike so am just toying with the idea of (thinking about) buying a full set of RRR decals if it is possible to get them all

Re: differences between earlier and later rr's
Some of the differences I have found, as you point out with the R model, cartridge forks and rear shock with rebound damping, different 4th gear, no parking lights, running lights (may be taken off some bikes), front discs pattern, exhaust headers thinner, different carbs with restrictors in inlets (marked 94) for 53bhp , various tolerances and fluid levels different. Lights always on, wiring harness different, thats all I can remember off hand. The only difference I can see part number wise between the R & R2 is the speedo, not sure whats different about it though.
As far as your paint is concened I have a R model that came with an N scheme, dont know why.. So, now I have a pearl white tank (N colours) and have just painted my bike in a mixed Ross White (R colours) and although you can tell the difference you really have to look at it to realize this. The pearl white looks slightly creamier (duller?).

L,N model got sidelight, R model no. so, the headlight is different in term of the sidelight hole.
L,N model side mirror and fairing stay bracket is slightly different with R model.
