all bolts tight? if you take the can off and shake it is it there?

failing that a dyno run would help. if you are anywhere near Essex on Saturday there is a dyno day @ Gibsons for a tenner a run. am sure you could then see what's rattling.

Are you sure it's a rattle and not just the exhaust resonating?

A yamamoto systems I had sounded very raspy/rattly, I always thought it was the exhaust springs causing it but it turned out to just be a resonant effect of the system.

I couldn't change it no matter what I did. If you have a spare muffler fit it up and see if it makes a difference, if it does it's just the system making the noise.

Likewise with the resonance. I silenced every spring and still had the rasp after rebuildng the muffler. The baffles on a lot of import systems are buggered, so that could be it too. However there is a difference between a rattle and a rasp! As Datarock says, try your new maggot and if it still doesn't cure it, it's probably just the exhaust. Personally, I'm a fan of a raspy exhaust 8-)

That will solve your problem - you won't hear anything over that muffler!

well its been happening since i purchased the bike about 8 months ago so its been the main drive for the maggot...the rasp annoys me its a tyga fiberglass can it was a full can and was raspy after my accident i had to chop it in half and re attach it and its still raspy...my mate has the stainless tyga can and it sounds so much better without tht rasp..

mine does the same , been driving me nuts, i thought it was the springs rattling but i even took them off and still does it , ive sealed all joins with fire gum , still does it , must just be the resonance but is more of a tinny rattle than a rasp :(

Perhaps one of the rivets hasn't 'taken' properly, meaning its still loose.
