Does this sound normal? (1991 NC29)

Well... Ive recently had my Carbs balanced at the local garage (about a month ago)...

Before it became minus figures in the temperature! To start the bike (even when it was relatively cold outside) I wouldn't need choke or throttle... just press on the button then when she has started a quick flick of the wrist to keep her going....

But now that it has gotten really cold it just WONT cold start

Sometimes it may fire once but I have had to bump everytime... THEN when its running i have to give it some choke BUT when i pull the choke full it sounds as if its flooding :?

Someone told me this may not be normal? :?:

When its cold I find my bike is harder to start, generally I turn over with a little throttle and at the same time whip the choke out to around half way, it then fires and I then adjust the choke to suit, letting it idle, no throttle around 2.5 thou to 3 thou on the clock until I get a clean uptake, then away I go.. Hope that helps until someone else answers.

Does it usually stutter as if its flooding if you give it too much choke?

For my 1990 NC29, no. More choke, the more revs...

i guess we start our bikes differently.

1) key in ignition and on
2) pull choke out 1/4 -1/2 way
3) press start button straight after coke
4) give a small twist o wrist when it fires.
5) leave on choke for a min or so.

no probs
