Project bike value
Hi,
a mate of mine is thinking of getting rid of his NC23 tri arm project bike( he's not got time anymore), i dont know what year it is, its in loads a bits. Its all painted ( tho i think upper fairing and tank need doing) up ready for assembly. The engine is also in bits, and has a new head waiting to put on. Also theres no lower fairing, and i dont know if theres any tyres either.
So what do you guys think its worth?
I am thinking of putting in a 600 it it not too much like hard work....
Cheers
Ian

Re: Project bike value
You could buy a half decent road worthy NC23 for around £600. I would probably say max £400, but then it depends if there's any special parts. If I were him I'd sell the parts individually.

Hi
thanks for the reply, theres no special parts or anything fancy, just a load a boxes full a parts, even the forks are in bits. Be a good project, but as you say its worth more in bits, which is a shame.
Thanks again.
Cheers

If it a non runner & as spesh as its stripped a blanket cost is £50. no telling how much you may have to spend on getting it sorted, so wave the big note under his nose.......

Re: Project bike value
I have a 600 in a 23 frame and I'll sell you that for £1k with MOT.
That will be at least £400 cheaper than you will build it by the time you have paid to get the frame welded.
There are so m,any silly bits you have to do that you find after the bike is assembled.
You will also need to sort both the front and rear suspension.
Even getting the parts cheap will cost

Hi,
thanks for the replies and the offer, but i'm not after a built up bike, i have always been a tinkerer and prob enjoy building as much as riding, he may not even sell it yet, i hope he will, but i have a feeling the car has blown its head gasket yesterday( theres water seeping out from somewere on the engine) so i may have another project first!
Thanks
Ian
