NC23 Aero and NC23RR - same under the skin?

Post by Jedi »

Hi guys,

First post in this section so hi to all and thanks for reading.

I'm after a CBR400 NC23 Triarm, and I'm going to fit the Tyga T9 fairing set to it.

My question is, how different are the NC23 Aero models to the NC23 RR models? I know the Aero has one headlamp so a little bit of loom butchery will be in order to use the two headlamps in the Tyga kit, but I need to know if there are significant differences in the frame that would prevent the Tyga kit from fitting?

Aero models seem to be cheaper than RR models, so every pound saved on purchase gives me a pound extra to do the conversion with.

Many thanks for any help you can give

Avoid the aero!!! It's a different bike to the tri-arm all togeather...

Hope that helps somewhat.

Cheers for the help guys, I found a few pics of the Aero and compared them to the RR, I spotted the swingarm was different and the instrument cluster meets with the fairings but it's very hard to see what it's like under the plastics.

It's definitely going to be a CBR400RR NC23 then, so if anyone knows of one missing its fairings or an ex track bike with a V5 then I'm definitely interested :)

The Areo has well skinny wheels and non floating disk.So archiving the look might be a bit hard.
In fact an Aero with CBR 125 bodywork on would make an awesome sleeper :idea:

One thing to remember though, the Aero was never restricted power wise unlike every other 400 grey import since. Of the 4 greys I've had (Aero, CBR, VFR and Superfour) the Aero was easily the fastest one.

errrm, an Aero 600cc can only do 110-120mph! my (delimited) NC29 can do 130mph!.... how is the smaller 400 Aero going to be faster?

Errrm, because it's more powerfull than your NC29 and has much better aerodynamics. I just did a quick search and came up with this,

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/classifie ... 149/cat/17" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I know it's only one post but they do say it's faster than all the other CBR400's.

If your NC29 is realy de-restricted then it should be good for 70+ HP. Or do you mean you've taken off the speed limiter. I remember Bat Motorcycles could get hold of the race kit for the VFR400 in 1988 and this reputedly gave over 70bhp.
