Bloody Restrictors.
I passed my test on Thursday and have been riding my NC30 around with restrictors.
Anyway its running like a complete and utter dog
This morning, coming down the bypass, evo behind me, first, second, bye bye evo I shift into third then fourth then it bogs down, up come the evo and screams past me, then I have to put it into second and leave it in second in order to keep up with the flow of traffic e.g. 60 mph!
What a f**king joke. Its really getting up my f**king wick now.
Its like when I open the throttle to pick up speed it bogs down, when I try and crusie it bogs down. In the last 2 days my bike has been into 5th & 6th gear once! Then I had to shift down to get speed back up.
I don't get whats wrong with it. IMO its more of a dnager to ride it around like this than it is at full power.
If anybody has run a restricted NC30 did it run this bad? What can I do to improve? I had it done by Honda, is it meant to be re-jetted?
For now I do want to run the restrictors.
I've tried feathering the throttle doesn't work and all that.

You have to rejet. Simple as that. If you paid Honda to do it, they need to get their hands dirty again, free, and sort it for you.

im running on restrictors and havnt touched jets or anything , my bike runs quick up to 100mph (probly takes about 10 secs or so'ish to get to the ton), its almost as if there is no restriction at all until you reach the 100mph mark as it wont go past that , every gear pulls good, i guess the bike is just restricted to 100mph, it was a fi international restriction kit that was installed,
your bike is defo not runnin right, in my opinion you shouldnt need to re jet your carbs , check if the resrictors have been inserted properly, they should be on the lower side of the carb rubbers and closest to the cylinder heads, also before you take it back use a torch and check they seated the carbs properly as that will cause issues (if your not confident on doing this take it back as cmsmj1 said and dont let them fob you off ....
i was fortunate enough to know my local bike workshop and the guy let me install my restrictors myself with his guidance so i know what was done and no rejetting required..

You should need to rejet.. It is simple
The fact yours (deviant) works is probably more luck than judgement.
It will be probably boggin down and too rich as the engine cannot breathe as well

well i did say at the time will i need to rejet as i thought it would need doing but he said no shouldnt need it, so after having my restriction done i had a carb sync done and after they were brought into line the mixture was adjusted very slightly but the chap said it was pretty much spot on, bike dosn't bog down but does when you hit the 90-100mph mark (not that i would ever do those sorta speeds anyway
) ,what ever dans problem is i think it has to be more than just a jet issue as surly mine would run like a pile of shite too and i honestly cant say i have anythink like the probs the poor chap is having,
i bow to your knowledge tho as you without a doubt know a hell of a lot more than me, im just merly reporting my own experience on running restrictors

all depends on what else was done on the bike.
Sometime in the 15+ year life of the bke it could have had a set of 120s fitted and so now it is restricted it is too rich.
Yours could never have been touched, might be a K model and still run the 112s so yours is fit for restriction..but will be very lean when the washers are out.
100mph is no worries from 33bhp. Should be fast enough and in my opinion it should get you some good time to learn conservation of momentum and corner speed.
too many people, again, in my opinion, rely on power to go fast and are crap riders as a result

i must admit im really enjoying the nc30, iv had a few nsr's -a gilera sc125(derbi gpr really) and a RGV250 which i popped about on while the cops wernt lookin b4 i passed my test- and i still own the new yzf125r, and the nc is a fantastic bike to ride from the moment i jumped on i fell straight into it , like some long lost love or summit im in total love with it , its a bike i plan to own forever, if this one dies on me i shall buy another and another and so on love it love love it i will always own one for sure

Far too many people on R1s / Blades / Busas at bike meets who simply cannot go around corners or islands on the way home, it's quite shocking sometimes!!

ive just had restrictors fitted in my nc24 an she is runnin like shite an only firing on 2cylinders never taking it back to the shop i took it too
