Speedo Derestrictor
Hi,
I have a de-restrictor kit on my NC29; it's fitted to the speedo I think..(Red BoX with Gold writing)
If I change to race clocks / scitsu rev counter how will this affect my derestrictor kit?
Thanks!

Re: Speedo Derestrictor
it wont affect the de-limiter kit...
but it WILL affect the speed limiter thats in your CDI/ECU unit and put the bike in to restriction mode, not let it rev past 5,000rpm. the kit is a by-pass by the sounds of it from F1 international. black box with 2 yellow pre crimped wires?
you can re-fit the de-limiter kit to the CDI end of the bike and do what ever you want to the clocks.
email me and i will attach the NC29 instructions for DIY de-limiter.

Re: Speedo Derestrictor
If the Kit is fitted to the Speedo cable like my little film box the bike is de-restricted - no matter which speedo you are using.
Haven't fitted anything at the CDI end - and it works with a KOSO RX1N speedo...

Re: Speedo Derestrictor
ok.. we need to ascertain which de-restrictor this is..
there are several ways to de-speed limit a NC29..
fit this

or fit this

the last one and your film box can also be fitted at the rear of the bike direct in to CDI wiring. gets rid of extra bits hanging about up front.

Re: Speedo Derestrictor
Hi,
Thanks for your help! really appreciated :)
I don't know much about the NC29 so forgive my lack of knowledge on this. There is a red thin box with 6 wires coming out of it which feed into the speedo and rev counter.
It's proabably some cheap item? The box is red with gold lettering; it says "POSH moto FIRM"
I was told it was a derestrictor but to be honest I don't know...
Cheers,
VR

Here is a photo; it looks messy but this is how it was when I bought the bike.

I have had a look online, I have found this item listed for a CBR250RR, but not the 400.

Re: Speedo Derestrictor
like you i have googles the name.
this pops up "Posh Firm CDI derestrictor"
the key is CDI...... the ONLY restriction from the NC29 CDI IS the 112mph limit.
i'm happy to say that is what it is.......
