RVF 450CC KITS & VFR 750/800 Engines
Hi Chaps, hope your all well.
Right cutting to the chase: I have a race RVF400 which has has extensive engine work carried out, and producing 68BHP without ram air however I'm due to refresh the motor this winter, and I've been thinking of a capacity increase for example the G-Force 450 kit however i think their no longer trading, but wonder it someone could please confirm this or if anyone can source the pistons and titanium con-rods.
Further more if the 450cc hike is no longer an option, has anyone got any experience of shoe-horning either a VFR 750 0r 800 lump in to the RVF 400 frame, any help or advice will be greatly received.
The main reason for going down this rabbit hole, is i used to race 600's and there all very good out of the box, but i have always dreamt / daydreamed of producing a very special one off RVF Track-WEAPON = small light and nimble with a little more shove!!!!!
Many Thanks and i look forward to your advice.
Martin

Not sure about the big engine option but abrmoto (http://www.abrmoto.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) he builds 73bhp RVF's :)
He'd be a good place to start.

G-force posts on here.. he had some coswoth pistons made (oversized) recently and had some sets for sale as had to get a big batch made up.. another place to start.

Re: RVF 450CC KITS & VFR 750/800 Engines
been discussed to death. been a couple of bikes with shoehorned in 750 motors, but then they weigh a ton and have a host of other issues like airbox, cooling, electrical, exhaust etc etc.
if you have some money to burn and want a 80bhp bike, go speak to chris at dynopro racing. power is up there with the best of the ZXR's but with the lovely V4
Or cash it all in and buy a RC30

Or a shout for BMC racing - they'll set you up some ram air and some lightweight subframes, tanks and other goodies..

I think there have been examples of nc30's fitted with sv650 vtwin engines, not sure what the power advantages are. Would have thought the extra capacity would help, not a v4 though. I want that nc30/750....

Re: RVF 450CC KITS & VFR 750/800 Engines
I tried but failed
there just seems to not be enough room under the tank for the airbox and injectors etc from the SV.
It was too much work for me anyway!

Looking at it I think it would have to be underseat tank and a fake tank consisting of not much more than the airbox.Smev wrote:I tried but failed![]()
