play in rear shock bush?

Post by bourney »

When my bike is on it's side stand i can rock it and feel some play in the rear shock. It's definitly in the shock as i can put my hand on it and feel the whole unit moving up and down/ Definitly freeplay.

So i assumed the lower shock bush was bolloxed.

Well looking through ebay photos the bush dosn't appear to be on the shock, it looks as though it may bolt to some sort of linkage?????

If so is the bush in the linkage?

and where could i get a bush from?

Is the bush a press in and out thing????

Oh yeah, that might help lol.

It's a '91 cbr400 NC23, tri-arm. I believe it's RRK model, not sure though.

Just a quick update.

It turned out someone had being fiddling. The bolt that bolts the linkage and bottom of the shock together wasn't the right one. The one that had being used had a much too long shank. So the nut wasn't even tightening up, it just hit the shank and thats it.

It had worn out the bush in the linkage aswell.

So ordered a new nut/bolt and bush and it's all perfect now :D:D
