Dreaded carb probs. any more issues?
Hi all,
I know this has been covered numerous times. Bought a Gsxr off ebay, 1991. Was supposed to be picking it up after it had been mot'd. Funnily enough he rang and said that it had running/idling issues. dreaded carb problems.
O-rings about £10.00 Float bowl gaskets £40 ish. Was going to offer him couple hundred quid less to cover bits and my piss arsing around.
I'm no Barry Sheene but 400 is quick enough for everyday riding and has more handling prowess than i will ever find out.
I dont want this to be a bottomless pit of money spent on it. Are they generally a good bike? as apart from carb probs it is a really tidy bike.

You got to remember its an old bike. Mines a 1990 Gk76a and its been a bit of a nightmare. I had carb problems straight after I brought it sorted that out with O rings etc. The other thing I noticed with mine is electrics are not very good and have needed some attention the bike did not run well in wet conditions due to electrics. My forks leaked which changing the seals never worked fluid still weeped past the seals ended up buying second hand forks as think old ones must of been damaged.
Now that my bike is pretty much sorted I'm really happy with it. As you say it rides well and is fast enough for the type of riding I do.
Enjoy
