HRC copy or TYGA Carbon airbox

Im in the market for a new airbox for my 35, I prefer the rough look of the fiberglass HRC copy ones ive seen but am i right in thinking a filter cannot be used with these?
Bike is a trackday/road bike so some sort of filter is essential

I use the Carbon airbox from TYGA for my '30 road bike and find it performs well, but to be honest i dont really know if it exceeds the performance of the OEM box as i havn't benchmarked the two back2back, but ill be doing that shortly.
Also it looks awesome....

Yes.

The downsides to the Tyga airbox is that it achieves the extra 8% of air volume buy increasing the height of the airbox, which means the tank actually rests on top rendering the tank 'rubbers' pointless.
Also is doesn't come with the sub-airfilter housing, so this has to be chopped off the standard airbox and fixed in place.

IMO, Im glad I bought one, but Im just not sure if I would recommend one if your after extra ponies, as I've never benched the stock against the Tyga box.

The TYGA box lid is based on a HRC one and modified, the rubber inlet from your standard box can be pulled out and pushed in you should see some extra ponnies from the box with it being based on a HRC one. You can also use the standard airfilter.

alex ,if your going back near a dyno i'd love to see what difference it makes over the standard one.

Whatever one i get the bike will be going on the dyno as it needs setting up anyhow, Alex get your bike back on the dyno im also interested in the improvement over the standard box.
With reference to the sub filter housing, just get a crankcase filter, does the same job and looks a bit better

I have to say that until they are put back to back on a Dyno I will listen to the little voice in my head! I'm not one to say that a product is crap but 8% ? If it ain't tested I'm not buying it , so if it does work and I mean not a 0.001hp increase witch is about wat you would get from taking a S*#t . Anyway HRC or not you need a snorkel and all the rest for that 8% to come in to play, but hey you show me I will Buy one. Show me the money !

Now I'm off for some HRC stickers I know you get at least 5 hp for them

Drunkn, Royster, G-man...I'd really love to lay down some hardcore facts with Dyno charts and so on, but its gunna cost me an hours labour at seastars! thats £45+vat

The extra airbox volume might improve throttle response, not something that will show up on dyno.

A bigger airbox won't create more outright power unless it's letting more air through to the carbs (which will then obviously need jetting to suit)...
