Racing camshaft and QUEITENING GEARS REMOVING ?
Guy,
Have couple of questions.
1. Where possible to get racing cams? I have read Kent Performance Cams Ltd http://www.kentcams.com/ made them before? What about now?
2. Why QUEITENING GEARS need to be remove? I understood that should be done to allow the cam timing to be spot on. But do not understand principals in details. And one more thing is not clear - if we remove secondary gear in this case we will have two neutral.
So, need explanation

Graeme, do you have somewhere list of parts you have in stock. Excell file is fine or similar like this. As for the camshaft - are mandatory make head poring and removed second gear to fit this ?France & Li Asia Tdg wrote:Sold two used good sets last week to this forum users @ £100 a pair - plus we keep unused Kent race cams in stock @ £340 a set outright purchase.

Less friction if you remove the camshaft quietening gears. They are not related to the gearbox.PARUS wrote: 2. Why QUEITENING GEARS need to be remove? I have them removed on my nc30 racebike, it now produces a mental sound (similar but nicer than a Ducati dry clutch type noise).
Quietening gear is the thin gear next to the main gear:

Thank you Stickshift. That's make thinks little bit clear. Looks like sound will be similar like on this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTfm_Tye3uw&hl=ukStickshift wrote:Less friction if you remove the camshaft quietening gears. Re: Racing camshaft and QUEITENING GEARS REMOVING ?
I started removing the quietening gear on my exhaust cam (already removed on my inlet by prev owner) only to find out it isn't that simple!
So i now have the gear removed but have the issue of drilling out the old locating pin to replace with a bolt.
Not a home job Parus, nothing like the link you have posted above.
Interested to know how you did the removing and replacing Revs27!
