t/cat clocks on 3tj

Post by cagiva996 »

i managed at last to get my lazy arse to put the thundercat clocks on my 3tj hybrid and it couldnt have been easier.i got pissed off banging into the rev limiter as the tj clocks go to 15000 and the t/cat 13000 and i kept getting caught out.seeing the two bikes are 17 years apart nearly everything was the same-the way they mounted and even the wiring on the back is more or less the same,so it was a case of just swapping like for like- thanks mr yamaha! also the tj clocks only go up to 120 so no more guessing how fast im going!just as an aside on my early sunday run on a closed private road on the little hybrid, my riding companion who was following on his new fangled modern jobby informed me that it had steamed up to an indicated 154 which was quite a shock, glad i replaced those h rated tyres!!!

The modern stuff tends to read about 10% high, so about 140.

I've had my sat nav on mine and seen 143. Screen's so low it wants to spit me off the back.

What did your thundercat clocks say at the time?
