CRG 'copy' levers on e-bay

Post by mattUKNC »

Hi All,
I have just purchased some of these, could be going back on e-bay but I thought I'd give them a go for £40 the pair. Has anyone tried them? They exactly the same as CRG even on closer expection, I can't view e-bay at work (no idea why?! ;) )
so can't put a link. I might add it later when I get home.
I received them pretty quickly as they came from Thailand, lass than a week!

Matt

Have you any pics of them fitted? Or the URL for the listing. Why are you selling them so soon after buying them, are they not that good?

There's a plague of them, any honda sports levers will fit that were designed for non-radial master cylinders (i.e. most pre-2004 honda sports).

They're not for sale yet! :D I mean they 'might' be going on e-bay if they don't feel right etc.

I should be fitting them tonight so I'll post pics as soon as they're on. I only found them by doing a honda brake lever search, they were not model specific on their description.

A guy with a ZRX1100 fitted some aftermarket levers and when he pulled into the car park with his wife as pillion..he rode straight into the wall at low speed...still broke his wifes leg though.....reason....the lever completely broke off !!!

Well here they are. Probably ok for a track bike as the brake doesn't engage with switch for the brake light!
It would also require a spacer under the lever as it's too narrow, basically I'm not sure it's the right one!
They do look very well made though.

CRG also had a recall against some of their levers. The never disengaged the master cylinder piston. So, as you're riding the brakes are always dragging, heating up, and will eventually lock up. My buddy had this happen on his Ducati, caused some serious damage to his knee requiring surgery.

All I am saying is, never fully trust any of the brands. Install, inspect and test carefully.
