Re: Speed...
I once rode with three GSX-R's. two 750cc's and a 1000cc whilst i was on my NC30. Both the 750's told me they were at my side at 152mph, and the 1000cc said he was indicating 147mph on his digital speedometer. My NC30 was indicating just over 140mph, probably about 142-143mph i would of said. i was very very impressed of course, but nobody to date has ever believed me, and for the love of it I cant do it again. LOL
I regularly see over 130 on mine...on the clock of course so actual speed is less..

Re: Speed...
A genuine 135mph is possible.
You can probably get a smidge more but it will most likely be cos of a good tail wind, a midget pilot, going down a hill or just good luck!

I don't think I've ever tried for a top speed before (on the road)! Not much fun ringing the pooper out of it.royster81 wrote:Stickshift wrote:A genuine 135mph is possible.!

Re: Speed...
You gotta give 'em full beans! I wailed mine with the throttle on the stop in every gear making sure i didn't shift until just into the red. 14500-15000 rpm! It was fun!
I've seen an indicated 160 on my FJ but i have to say that was on a slight down hill. Things seemed to go very quiet at this speed! ANd me rev counter was in the red too, about 10000 rpm..
I know its not all about speed but you gotta try it once (I do!)
Some interesting stuff guys, cool...

Top speed really doesnt do it for me

Fastest i've seen on my speedo is just shy of 130mph, although i reckon its around 120 in the real world.

Re: Speed...
i'm with you on this one, more than happy to run it right to the red before shifting but a for top speed, i just don't get a thrill out of it and theres no point risking my license.Agreed, im an accelleration and twisty road junkie.
However, i have seen 135 on my zxr before i backed off, there was definitely some more in it.

Re: Speed...
My best road experience has to be on the Nurburgring ring on my FJ where i think my grunt helped lots. I upset two ZX6Rs and a Blade out there. Next time, i'll take the 400 where i'm sure its flickability will be its ace in the hole.
I enjoy all sorts of fast, top speed, corners and acceleration. I think despite us all having slightly different views, i don't think any of us would be without our machines!?
