29 rear wheel on 23
I have picked up a NC29 wheel to put on my 23 and need some help some help getting it on. I remember from the old forum some thing needs to be shaved down? Could anyone who has done the conversion let me know what needs to be done? Do I use the spacers from the 23 or 29? I am guessing I will have to use the 29 sprocket carrier.
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: 29 rear wheel on 23
use everything from the nc29 wheel man...sprocket carrier, disc, spacers.
what u need to look at: the rear caliper bracket,
take it off,and look on the inside of it...you will see a couple of bumps that stand proud...up near the top
there may be 3,but anyways,get a file,and file them flush...job done.
these bits interfear with the disc when trying to mount the wheel( they make it hard to do thats all)
its much easier without them

Re: 29 rear wheel on 23
I'm hi-jacking the thread a bit here :)
How different are the spacers between the 23,29 in length? Can the 23 spacers be shortened and used instead?
I've just bought a set of 29 wheels for my 23 and I have everything included except the rear wheel spacers.
If not could anyone measure me the 29 spacers with a vernier calliper or something and I'll make a set myself?

Re: 29 rear wheel on 23
i dont think you can,i ended up making some before obtaining the proper spacers
from memory they were 10mm in length overall
i'll run out to the shed later and have a measure..
