FITTING EBAY STICK ON SPEEDO MPH DIAL
HI. here is the fitting guide. (be sure to only buy them from my ebay site, warrington.dismantlers)
i will asume you can use spanners and screwdrivers to get the clock off and down to just the speedo head. there is not much to it but the big one to watch is the needle has preload on it and you have to mark where the drum sits in relation to the frame before you remove the needle otherwise your speed will be way off!!!

carfuly remove the needle. best done with a flat blade screwdriver. remove the 2 cross heads near the needle hole and the dial will lift off. i have used a blade to remove some of the paint so the light will show through. the next one i do i will use some 1200 grade rubbing paper and do the full dial to see how it looks at night. if you want to get creative you can remove the outer and some squares for the numbers so you can see the speed better at night.

once i have it ready i press the overlay onto the needle stop and make a small hole. i then remove the backing and fit it onto the dial. using a very sharp knife i trim the edges and put a hole for the needle to come through the middle.
then using the marks to align the drum i press the needle back on.
you should then have something that looks like this...

before you rebuild you can take advantage of having the clock stripped and delimit your bike as per

REMOVE THIS PART FOR +120MPH!!!

(thanks to "speedy for these pics...)
then build it back up and you will have something that looks like this

ENJOY!!!!

Re: FITTING EBAY STICK ON SPEEDO MPH DIAL
on your ebay listing you claim these are for both the CBR and VFR...
hate to be one one to tell ya hun.. the 2 dials have the speed increments at slightly different places from each other.
when i had a NC30 i looked at making a copy of my NC29s dial and fit it. i printed it out and put it over the older dial (MPH) and saw the difference.
there is a risk of people getting points/fines if this is NOT right...

Re: FITTING EBAY STICK ON SPEEDO MPH DIAL
when fitted to the cbr400 the 60mph is just below the 100kph mark. i.e about 100k = 62 mph which is correct.
also 140kph is at the top on the cbr400. on my dial (for both) 85 is at the top. 140kph is equal to 86.9mph.
as far as i am aware they are the same speedos. any minor difference will be soaked up by the fact that speedos are not overly acurate to start with.....
if anyone can canfirm otherwise please let me know.
just found on ebay..... they look the same to me....

got mine and wish i hadnt really bothered. nice try but for a bit of sticky paper with cut lines my sisters 3 year old could have got straighter.
you pay yer money and take your chances.
Andi, if these were made cleaner on a better printer with less bleed and cut cleanly you may be onto something, i know they are cheap but the wonky cutting around the mileometer looks rough

If you want another set to cut ya self pm me ya addy... I have now changed the resolution so should be better. I will leave the milometer as plain black so you can cut the holes when fitted. Sorry you were not happy.

Re: FITTING EBAY STICK ON SPEEDO MPH DIAL
Got mine the other day and afraid I have to agree with CRM re the cutting. Andi my advice would be to leave these uncut and let people trim with a stanley blade or scalpel once fitted as the cuts will be much cleaner. I sanded all the old dial paint away fully using 240 grade paper but had to use black insulating tape around odometer and trip dial to ensure a reasonable fit as the holes cut were way too big.
Other than that for a fiver I think they're OK and look a damn sight better than the overlay! wouldve prefered not to have had to use the insulating tape though as it is visibly raised around the odometers as a result..
Here are a few pics of mine so you can make your mind up

So what da ya think then??

Re: FITTING EBAY STICK ON SPEEDO MPH DIAL
I used a large flat blade driver to ease it off but it did bend the drive pin slightly. Had to straighten the pin when I replaced the needle. all good now tho...how does everyone remove the speedo needle ? i pulled mine and it wont come off
