petrol drip drip drip

he folks,when my rvf is on the sidestand and i fire her up for the first minute of idleing i get a drip of petrol onto the floor only about 5 tablespoons,but i cant for the life of me see where its coming from,not had the plastics off yet but been under and over it with torch and cant seem to locate it,its defo not the fuel tap any ideas or info will help

is it definatly petrol? it could be condensation from inside the exhaust.

You could be over-filling that tank and the fuel is coming out the overflow pipe, failing that, a Sligeach says, it might well be water from the exhaust. However, could have a cracked float bowl. have you noticed and difference in performance?

Move the bike and light it (carefully) if it doesn't burst into flame it isn't petrol.

I get a drip of condensation out of the exhuast for a minute or two when its first fired up.

na defo petrol,no differace in preformance,could it be a slight split in hose,and when warm the hose expands and stops the leak??dunno

definitely worth taking the belly and sides off for a closer look
attention 2 detail - bike valeting and more

Not good, could be a leaking fuel tap or anything really. I'd get it sorted though before the bike catches flames.

Best thing to do it wrap toilet paper around the petrol tap, around the carbs and anywhere else, next day see which are wet :)

Petrol tends to run so if you dont have rags around parts you might be tracing the tail end of a leak.
