NC 30 gearbox whine in 2nd gear only
My nc has just started a whine in second gear. As you increase the throttle it gets worse until you change gear then it goes. it only happens in 2nd gear. has anybody got any ideas ?

The only Idea I have is that your 2nd gear is fooked.
If you have check the other easier things like chain tension etc then you might have to face the fact that 2nd gear takes a lot of stress in a motor and so it is on the way out..
Does it jump out of gear at all?
Do you use clutchless gearchanges from 1st>2nd?

The gear change is a bit sticky even with chain tensioned properly. I had a feeling it would be knackered. Can you take the bottom crankcase off with out taking top end off ?

Hi,
Have you checked the oil level recently?
If not it might be worth checking it or just seeing if an oilchange helps.
