Carbon Airbox Help

Post by alexwitham »

After ordering a Full Tyga System which should be with me sometime in August, i was thinking of maybe tweaking the airbox, but only if this will increase performance furthermore.
I've read some posts about modifying the standard airbox, removing the snorkel, laying some airbox foam in place of the filter element, using a Golf GTI K&N element etc etc.
However, i am not wanting to effect the condition of any of the standard equiptment on my bike so i've been looking at this Tyga carbon airbox as a replacement.
Now, when fitting the exhaust i will of course be re-jetting to suit with some HRC style jets with Rick O, will a carbon airbox help squeeze any more performance out of the little V4? Does it use the standard filter element or does it come with one?
Is it worth the money/hassle?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Alex

Tyga air box has a 8% greater volume, makes setting up easier as has larger air volume in airbox.
With ram air is even more noticeable.
What you neednow is a HRC CDi or a programable ignition to get best out if the above mods ;)

Spoke to Gavin, it uses the standard OEM filter, and as ABR said, it has an increase in air capacity/volume of 8%.

thanks guys
