Official Dyno Day --- Interest?

Post by The Hamster »

Ok guys and girls. Lets get an Official Dyno Day setup so we can see just who is producing what and to try and average out the results!

The Place will be as follows:
Projex
Unit 6 Spinners End Industrial Estate
Oldfields
Cradley Heath
West Midlands
B64 6BS

http://www.projex-uk.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The date is yet to be confirmed pending enough interest from users on here..

Ideally we are looking to get as many COMPLETELY STANDARD NC30's there as possible, but of course any bike is welcome really!

The price will be dependant on numbers, If we can get over 10 bikes coming along the price will be £15 per Dyno Run and that includes a bacon roll and a mug of tea. An absolute bargain if you ask me! The normal price for a full power run is £30+.

You are welcome to convoy to and form the place, and it would be great if we could all organise a ride for afterwards, and perhaps find somewhere interesting to have lunch??

If you have any ideas then please put them down here and I will speak to Kevin at Projex and try and sort something out. If you are interested in coming, could you please put your name down here.. I will put a date up once we have got an estimate of numbers.

Interested People/Bikes:

2.
3.
4.
5.

Don't mean to pee on your parade Hamster..but BMC know the 400s, it is a nice ride out there and I would rather support someone in the 400 "scene :tits: "

Whaddya reckon? If MIke (rvfhonda on here) is up for hosting us again I reckon it to be a better shout that the dude who wounded your priode with his low reading dyno :poke:  :ninja:

Either way, I mgiht be cool if I get a date told ot me and then I should be more than 50/50 for coming..none of my NC's are standard though..they are old and tired!

CMSMJ1, I wont be changing venue to suit you. As for the Dyno Reading Low, it doesnt matter, Because we will all be on the same one so if my results are low, then so will yours be. This means we can get an accurate comparison between bikes and stop all his willy waving with bikes showing 58bhp at the rear wheel etc etc.

If you look at the thread with my results in, you will see that actually the Dyno was spot on, and with the Conversion factor that was given by Viper_biker you will see that my bike is now producing 60.8bhp or somewhere near on the Dyno for the Crank Power which is more than acceptable given HONDA themselves have stated that this figure should be 58bhp!
And for your reference, the Dyno was re-calibrated after almost every run just to try and keep you all happy.

So then.. Projex it is....

Hi,

when is this going to be happening? I'm away for most of August so if it could be arranged for September then that would be great. + i need to get the bike running and do a bit of a service before it goes on a dyno. - And change the gearing, its a bit low at the moment.

Ive not got a V4 but can put some vfr stickers over the cbr ones - would that count as a modification??

Hamster, i think CMSMJ1 has a fair point about the dyno. Its also been mentioned that your air/fuel was still too rich. Im not dissing protex because ive never used them but i would have thought that would have been picked up and sorted in the 10 or so runs you did.
Too many bikes, so little time!

Matchlessman, as you can see I am waiting for the interest in the Dyno day to be high enough before I go about arranging a date.
Seeing as you have told me August is pretty much out of bounds I can happily now arrange it for another date knowing this.

I really wish you would all stop saying about my dyno run being low.... how many times have I got to tell you with the information given to me it clearly says its spot on??? See for yourself!!!
As for the Air/Fuel ratio, yes I agree it is running rich, but as we put larger jets in we noticed eahc ime that the bike was running smoother and more powerful through the entire range. It would appear that these bikes, well, my 'odd' bike runs better with more fuel going in. It is now running happily and mor epowerful with 125F/127.5R jets in. The Spark plugs give no indication that the bike is running rich with these settings as we checked them after every run.
Anyway, the other thread is the argument one, lets keep this on track...

As for bringing different bikes, no problems. Bring the CBR (With CBR Stickers on) and give it a go. Just as long as we have some NC30's there to compare with, thats the general idea of the day. Anyway, Id love to get out on the road with any other 400's and see how we all compare where it counts. LOL

Sorry for the thread drift, but if mike was up for doing this again i'd be more happy to go there, as it is a much better road and I know the guys there.

I'm up for this. I think CH is less than 30 mins away.

Interested People/Bikes:
1. The Hamster (NC30, Almost 100% Stock)
2. Challymo (Not quite stock )
3. Dx4 (NC30, Again not quite stock but no engine modifications)
4. Mrs Druid (NC35, stock except for silencer)
5. Druid (RC24, stock except for exhaust or NC35, totally stock or maybe even both)

Actually thinking about it I'd be interested in taking a few silencers and comparing the differences, have a stock, ART race (very loud) and Carbon Can Co (road legal) so may be up for having 3 runs just on the one bike.
