Fork lowers gold paint..
Hello, anyone know where the best place to get the paint from? or how much it would cost for someone to do the work plus supply the paint..
I also have some nc30 calipers that need painting the same colour..
Someone had said about Cold zinc galvanising spray?
Any ideas? Throw em my way!

Re: Fork lowers gold paint..
i repainted my VFR lowers about 18 months ago with some halfords stuff, made a fatal mistake of using lacquer from another brand and it was not compatible, it made a cant of it.
just spend good time on prep with wet and dry, mask out the holes and put the cans in warm water prior to using.
any more questions, just ask

Re: Fork lowers gold paint..
putting the can in worm water helps the separate the particales in the paint so it flows and sticks better and also rejuices orange peal . also helps if you worm up the item you are painting .

Re: Fork lowers gold paint..
as lloyd says it just makes the paint a little more "runny" and so can be sprayed on finer so you can build up the paint in several coats. heating the fork lower to room temperature also prepares the surface particle for better adhesion or some sh!te like that!!
that pic above was before the lacquer, after two coats of primer and two coats of paint (rubbed down) hopefully it illustrates the sparkely appearance of ford metallic silver from halfords.
For the cost of some primer its only an additional 4GBP or something so mite as well do all you can. tidy forks are an investment after all.
