Cheers guys has taken some work, but I'm used to restoration! Oldest bike I've done was 1971 gt750J lots of work but always worth it, good thing with experance cost goes right down

Just about to swap the spring on the S1000rr shock for the heavier one. Spring removal I have it compressed and loose but how does it come off???

The gold c shaped collar thingy needs to be pushed out sideways. This will then release the spring.

What spring you gone for?

I used an 825 spring as I'm around 13 stone. Also after reading several threads people should be aware that you should get a spring that's internal diameter should reduce near the top.

And now I've just read it mentioned in your full thread grrr!

awesome stuff, im currently doing a small scale resto myself. plan is to use mine this summer then do the same as you next winter, a new bigger shed over the summer is planned to accommodate.
great stuff tho, well done!

Tapered spring all fitted to the BMW shock, took her out for the first ride today. felt great, much more stable/predicatable in the corners and a better ride too.

Win.
