This may help, from another thread
RonniB wrote:35 engine and carbs, fit an ignitech cdi and hrc jet kit from Rick, get a TPS from cbr 400, tyga twin stack, some sort of under carb air tray and run the carbs semi-open (just a filter on the airbox baseplate). This is a high torque road setup, which is going to be just as smooth and fuss free as the original setup once jetting and setup is done.

And when you come to jetting, sort out your main jet first, then the pilot screw/jet and finally the needle taper/height. And use Ricks method of carb sync before you do anything with jets..
wow thanks a milioln :grin: will definately look into that sounds expensive i have to save som pennies can all that be acheived by myself or do i have to get it taken to a wrkshop..

rick olivers price list can be found here http://www.vfr.dk/Default.aspx?tabid=14 ... uage=da-DK" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The twin stack isnt essential but will help, dyno time will be needed unless your a wizzard with carb settings. your definatly need dyno time to set up the TPS.

I have a set of carbs im building to this spec so i'll let ya know how it goes.

Hey dr_46
I am in Sydney and had a dyno tune and rejet done today in Carringbah, they handle a lot of formula 400 track bikes which our bike and the VFR is one of the main entrants in that class. They are helpfull and price is good as well and they know their stuff, A bloke named "Harley" handled mine and I was in and out in an hour and a half. I had a similair problem with mine it had an awfull flat spot from about 4-6000rpm.

RB Racing has all genuine Honda OEM parts for VFR400 and RVF400 and also have aftermarket parts. Have a chat to them in person tho if you are able to get out there.
