Worked late tonight on Red/black , got the carbs on, oil in, new spark plugs, clean air filter, sub filter. adjusted the throttle cables. Torqued all the suspension parts up, used my new Whale Brand riveter on my new chain, worked well, chain guard on, chain adjusted, battery charged. Cleaned both rads and sprayed the bottom rad satin black fitted both rads and fan, filled with Motorex coolant (shit thats expensive)

After putting a substiute tank on, turning the key, after about four attempts it burst into life!! carbing bang on as far as i can tell. Just need some final checks then bleed the brakes, torque everything up then bodywork on!!

Really pleased!! It sounded lovely!!

Way to go, Kris ;) Sad thing it will be gone soon. Lovely looking bike it is. Reckon the 'possible nine-nine-sixish' will give you some new scope  (btw, still no mailman seen here... :( )

Shit Jas, I can't believe that! I posted that Tuesday I think! I will walk up to the post office in the morning and check what time it went off!
Please let me know as soon as you get it! I don't know how long it usually takes from england to the Netherlands do you?

Right finally got the wheels on, and wheeled it out for a few photos and a start up. Carbs seem bang on, but the revs are hanging at around 3-4k so need to check the carb rubbers are up nice and tight or the throttle cables are sticking slightly simple fix though!!

Hi Kris,

Is that a scuff on the swing arm just behind the heel gaurd? I have a scuff that size in the exact same place. I wonder where its come from?

Yeah its a slight scuff, a couple of mine have them, i think its when the chain has snapped in motion and its twanged the swingarm!!

i think it's more where the rearset has bent in and rubs on the swing arm as the swing arm travels up and down while riding .

Ah. Another one of those unique things about the NC. Along with the speedo plastic rub. Gotta love them :)
