can someone please put some pictures up for xivlia. If my bike was at home I would - but its not, just to ensure this thread finishes quicker than the last one.

oh and sort those bolts for your rearsets, if you can keep tightening them and they go through the back, they arent tight are they? I dont care how many times they are retapped - just do them properly and you dont have to worry about them ever again.

Fix it once properly, the more you look for quick fixes, the longer its going to take you in the long run as sods law means it will all go bang together - presumably when your clutch lever becomes slack, the rearset drops off and realise there was a use for that back brake afterall..... funny as that sounds, no one wants to hear about another damaged NC30!

I managed it.

The advice in the Honda manual is maybe a little better than the Haynes. Make sure you have the spring and the clutch cable retainer around the right way.

deep breath , ok when you say its not working , how is it not working , im assuming you pull in the lever and nothing happens or the mechanism does not return or somthing ,
lets start at the begining , this wont be easy as im doing it from memory,

remove the cable from the lever at the sprocket end and remove the cover ,
slide out the lever/rod and spring from the sprocket cover ,
have a good look at how the thing works , the cable pulls the lever in the sprocket cover to the left , just slide the rod back into the cover and do the motion by hand and look to see what happens ,

ok place the spring on the rod with the springs hook on the lever to the left (like the really shit image i just made )

slide the rod back into the sprocket cover with the lever on the rod facing away from you (12 o'clock position) and hook the lower tab on the spring to the left side of the spring stop on the sprocket cover carfully put it back on the bike and reassble then try again , you really have to look at how it works to in order to figure out how to put it back together , its really hard to explain , but i tried

Once you've got the internals figured out in the sprocket cover, it should look like this when you reconnect the clutch cable:

okay i still cant get this thing to operate correctly. ive not tried it for a few days due to rain. but here is the video of what happens..... its annoying.

Take the sprocket cover off and then hold it in your hand. Look at how it works.

The cable pulls the lever, the lever rotates in the housing. The indented section that actually pushes the clutch pushrod is easy to get in wrong - put your finger where the pushrod should be - move the lever and you should feel it push. If it does not, take it apart and put it in the right way. It will be obvious to you once you have a proper look.

It just looks that you have not assembled it right - getting the indented bit in right is a mistake people make..there are loads of threads on here about it. I can remember several of them and am also pretty sure I have had this problem..it is simple once you know how.

Overall - chill out! Bikes are simple beasts. Human beings, just like you, built them. That means you can build one too. Patience is a virtue and I also like the "more haste, less speed" option as well!

yeah i can feel it when it pushes out. what i did was, i put my finger on the rod, and twisted the spring so that the rod is sat in its place. so its sitting on the indented bit. and then assembled it like that. but its still not working.

Are you sure you have the little piece that fits into it and then pushes onto the rod?
