If you found out the part number of the T'Cat and the 3TJ one you could see if they're the same

Sounds like the throttle position sensor - either wire it to ground or use a Foxeye CDI

The Foxeye CDI doesn't give the diagnostic through the rev counter I think

Grounding out was Kayla's suggestion on the first page of the thread. The 8k dance of the rev counter happened in the sticky 600 conversion thread, have a read through and see how it was cured.

The TPS shouldn't stop the bike firing, it's just a way of letting you know something's wrong. There should be three wires going into the cdi (maybe on a separate plug, I haven't got a Thunderace so can't say for sure) and if you connect either the blue or yellow to the frame it'll stop the tacho dance, or that's what happens on the TRX850 anyway. Have you checked for a spark, and are the plug leads on the right plugs? It's an easy thing to overlook and I've done it myself (which is why I much prefer singles  )

I've got a spare 4JH cdi if you need one.
