Re: Thundercat 3TJ
If you found out the part number of the T'Cat and the 3TJ one you could see if they're the same

Re: Thundercat 3TJ
Been a long time since updated. Bike now has new Magneto off another T/Cat engine I bought.
Still wont fire but is trying, when turn ignition on revcounter runs to 8k stops then comes back, tried searching and come to nothing. Any tips on that??
I am going to take carbs off and clean out the fuel and check jets over, all other tips are taken on board need to get this sorted now its been to long

Re: Thundercat 3TJ
Sounds like the throttle position sensor - either wire it to ground or use a Foxeye CDI

Re: Thundercat 3TJ
The Foxeye CDI doesn't give the diagnostic through the rev counter I think
Grounding out was Kayla's suggestion on the first page of the thread. The 8k dance of the rev counter happened in the sticky 600 conversion thread, have a read through and see how it was cured.

Re: Thundercat 3TJ
The TPS shouldn't stop the bike firing, it's just a way of letting you know something's wrong. There should be three wires going into the cdi (maybe on a separate plug, I haven't got a Thunderace so can't say for sure) and if you connect either the blue or yellow to the frame it'll stop the tacho dance, or that's what happens on the TRX850 anyway. Have you checked for a spark, and are the plug leads on the right plugs? It's an easy thing to overlook and I've done it myself (which is why I much prefer singles
)
I've got a spare 4JH cdi if you need one.

I got an interview tomorrow so depending on how that goes depends on when I work on my bike.
