Check inside the clocks to see if they have been modified as if they havn't it looks like your bike is still restricted.
If on the other hand you take apart the clocks and somebody has de-restricted it you know its something else, at the moment your trying too many things at once.
Afterall, all the dyno'ing, carb cleaning and jetting isn't going to do anything if your bikes still electronically limitied.

I have checked inside the clocks and although there is that cam shaped disc there is no wire or anything for it to make contact with so I assume that its been done already.
I have run the bike with the speedo connected and speedo cable disconnected and both times the bike topped out at 107mph
From what the guys have said on here if the bike was restricted I would feel it when the bike cuts 2 cylinders and I don't get that sensation from the bike.
How else electronically could the bike be limited then ? I understand there is this blue and orange wire I could run to positive of the battery but wouldnt that give the same result as disconnecting the speedo ?

If it was electrically limited you would get a massive misfire. Matt says that it just does not rev out..and it doesn't reqach 112,ph to hit the limiter anyways.
My tuppence is that the jetting is out and it is running like a bag of spanners due to the mssing airbox bits and bobs

Yeah from the sounds of it it isn't limited / or your not reaching the limiter yet!
I'm gonna side with the jetting issue.
Do you have an Airfilter in your airbox and does it look like the box has been cut or modified at all?
Next step would be to take the carbs of, strip and clean them noting jet sizes while doing so. :)

I registered to the forum just to help you guys out...
Im certain its hitting the speed limiter (the brass pin in the back of the speedo that when the needle touches it cuts out 2 cylinders)
My logic:
I was once caning down a hill when Id first got my first NC35, and was bouncing it off the speed limiter at an indicated 180kph or so, all the way down this long hill.
Cop pings me, I was doing 172kph actual speed all the way down the hill, convert that into mph, and wala! 106.8mph.
Hope this helps.

Welcome Morcs...however, we are told that this was tested without the speedo cable being installed so the speedo wil never sweep around and never set off the resrtriction.

Take it down the dyno's and see what its putting out.
Failing that i'll swap you the NC24 i'm rebuilding..

Hi - I'm new here, from Aus.
I'm riding a RC35 as my LAMS legal bike (Learner). Luckily for me, LAMS means I am OK with the bike in normal trim, no need to restrict to 33kW.
I'm just posting here that I concur it is a fuelling issue in all likelihood.
To the OP:
FYI I get ~90Kph (~56Mph) on the limiter in first. My little CBR250R gets to 70Kph in 1st.
In second I'm not sure but I can go pretty close to any speed limit in the NT (130Kph).
Unless your gearing is not standard, you will not be hitting the rev limiter.
BTW I haven't checked but it seems to rev to 15,500 so it may not have the std ECU. Perhaps the tacho is out?
I haven't maxed it out yet - 175-180 in 5th is the highest I went and it wasn't finished.

Welcome Russki! There's a fair fe Oz members/racers on here, stick around and you'll find this site is the shiznit when it comes to all things 400cc. 14,500 revs is standard redline for vfr and rvf (altough they can be out a bit). The hrc cdi will raise the rev limit, you might have one fitted.Russki Bear wrote: To the OP:

Just to add: It doesn't matter what gearing you run when it comes to indicated speeds, if a standard geared bike does an indicated 100km/h in 1st gear, then it will also show 100km/h on any other gearing as the speedo is driven by the gearbox (not wheels), howvever the actual speed will be different.
