You'll be 10mm's short on offset at the triples if you use the stock 600RR triples. That's going to cause a clearance issue between the tire and radiator under hard braking. Look up the info on the triples Mike Norman had done as they are designed to correct the front end geometry when using the 600RR forks.

fork swapping is just a crazy business...all i've been doing is researching like crazy.

anyway for those that are interested, the RVF fork length from axle centre line to top of fork cap is 710mm, offset is 35.5mm and the triple clamp centre to centre fork spacing is 204mm.

my intention is to retain the stock triples so need to find forks that fit in the stock triple upper and lower dimensions or have a custom lower triple made up as there aren't many forks out there that use a 52mm lower clamp. majority are 54mm so that would be the way to go.

I'll have to look at my triples when I get outside, but wouldn't it be easiest just to get a machine shop to machine the lower triple to 54mm? Is there not enough material? I'd think machining the stock triple then get the correct spacers for axle, calipers, etc. would be the best route to avoid messing with the geometry.

Another option, if all you want is the radial calipers, is to just get the caliper adapters for the RC51 (same mounting as NC35).

$200 spose they look nice but isnt using adaptors like this defeating the object of having radial calipers??? Your still gunna get flex where the bracket bolts to the fork leg which is what radials where designed to eliminate yes?

Cru I don't believe there is enough material on the RVF lower triple to bore it out to 54mm...it would be a serious compromise that I'm not eager to take.

As for radial adapters...not a good idea from what I've read. To me its a bit like M badges on a 318i..no point to it and very wanky

Quite a few people over here in the States have them on their RC51s (or SP1/SP2 to you guys over-seas) with no ill effects. Granted a proper front end swap would be better. The true benefit of swapping over via the caliper adapters (price aside) is that you can run the newer style calipers, which in my experience on the track (600rr with 1-piece 1000rr radial calipers, SS lines and Brembo 19x18 vs NC35 with 600rr calipers, SS lines and Brembo 19x18) are quite noticeably better. Granted they will flex a bit more than proper caliper mounts, I think they'd be ok. My NC35 is just my commuter/fun bike, so I'm not going to be swapping anything over any time soon (I have a 3XV that's for tinkering with :) ), but perhaps in the future.

Well, you'll need to have a set of triples fabricated if you're interested in keeping a healthy geometry of your NC chassis, as proven by Venom51 a long time ago. Otherwise you can use the stock 600RR triples if modified to accept the NC steering stem and lock stops removed/altered, but in my opinion this is not the proper way to do it. Mike Norman may be willing to supply the triples you need, give him a call/email!

Trumpet 675 forks go straight in rvf yokes so IMO that's your best option if your wanting to keep the geometry stock.
