The 1WG spindle is 17mm not 20mm ;) The bearing widths would need to be the same too, otherwise you'll need a new right side and sprocket carrier (internal) spacer.

Sounds fair to me. Condition ok? Pictures? can I let you know tomorrow lunchtime as I have made an offer to this geezer?
Yep, no probs. It'll give me a chance to sort a few pics out too. It's in very good condition

Thanks Kayla, speak tomorrow.

The reason the 140/70 R18 went on is that my garage told me it was fit. Amusingly, the reason they told me this is that the manufacturer told them it would fit! So Avon manufacture a tyre they think is suitable for the 3EN2 which isn't.

Did they fit the wheel afterwards ???

If they did, take it back demand a refund, or report them to trading standards. What they did is just dangerous.

Nah, fitted loose. They've always looked after me really well, forever trying to stop me killing myself. They say they'll cover whatever I want as a result of this, refund or other tyre.

Thanks Kayla. yep i shall have to make up new spacers. I started looking around for a XJR4 wheel though in a moment of indecision :? but I think the different disc put me off in the end.

Yes the FZR400 210mm disc is the smallest rear disc you can get.
